Do you know this week, March 16-22,  is Brain Awareness Week?

Laughter yoga has great benefit to all of us. Like stimulates the section of the brain responsible for motor functions, increases the level of adrenaline and catecholamine to the body, produces a high level of mental awareness and boosts memory.

I got email from Allan O’Meara who is one of a laughter yoga teacher in Vancouver in January. What he said in the email was… I have been working with senior (some of them have Alzheimer) for 10 years, want to celebrate and give back a little to all those seniors who have touched my life and have taught me many lessons. So Allan decided to raise $10,000 or more for Alzheimer’s Society, BC.

This really touched me since I lost my grandmother to Alzheimer’s disease years ago. I thought I would like to join him for the cause and decided to make the next laughter club session on March 20th for the fund-raising event. I will donate 100% of the proceeds from the session to the Alzheimer Society of BC.

As you know laughter yoga has great benefit for all of us!!

Tips… Laughter enhances and improves integrated brain activity!! A study at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, showed a unique pattern of brain activity while experiencing humor and laughter. Humor and laughter stimulate the left, right and frontal areas of the brain. It also stimulates the section of the brain responsible for motor functions. Humor also increases the level of adrenaline and catecholamine’s in the body, producing a high level of mental awareness and memory.

We will have a regular laughter yoga session and donate 100% of the proceeds from the session to the Alzheimer Society of BC.

Come and Join us! Bring your friends and family!! Everyone is welcome. No experience is required.

Hope you can make it!   Bring friends and family along and we will do hoho hahaha!!!

Looking forward to seeing many of you on Saturday!

One Response to “Brain Awareness Benefits”

  1. We had a great bunch of laughers and managed to raise a tidy sum to help out the Alzheimer Society. Thank you’s, and many more laughs, to all who attended and/or contributed to a worthy cause!
