Johanne Bouchard, CLYT, Canada: I started the Laughter Club of La Prairie-Montérégie, QC, Canada five years ago. As a leader, I like laughing weekly with the members and interacting with them. I even practice laughing alone together with proper breathing exercises and humming. This has made a significant difference to my body, mind and soul.As a child, I lived with a single mother who suffered from manic-depression and because the subject was a total taboo with my family, I was left alone to cope with this reality. As a result, I learnt to deal with harsh responsibilities at an early age. This included taking care of my younger sister and trying to bring smiles and laughter in my mother's life, although my efforts were in vain. Consequently, I am now very aware of problems related to insecurity, exclusion and isolation. With time, I developed a real interest for global health and wellness. I must say that Laughter Yoga is one element, among others, which has contributed to gradually improving various aspects of my life.
- Sat, 07 Jan 2012 04:31:20 +0000: Why Laughter Yoga Chose Me - Laughter Yoga International - A Life Changing Experience
Carla BeDell USA: I love to laugh. I always have. I married a man who loved to laugh as much as I did. For a while, everything was great. But just as what happens in most peoples lives, things became too serious. My husband and I were both involved in the stressful corporate life: him working with ever changing technology in the banking industry and me juggling the increasing pressure filled environment of a high level stockbroker and motherhood. Something had to give. The first thing that went was my fertility. I strongly believe the stress of my job led to miscarriage and my eventual inability to have any more children. My husband’s job loss came next. Life became very serious. Laughter slipped out of our lives.

I discovered Laughter Yoga 2 years ago when Mary Rives and Keith Carlson offered a free Laughter Yoga session at my performing arts guild. I loved it and felt great for even after several hours. - Mon, 26 Dec 2011 08:59:50 +0000: Laughter Yoga Blossoms In Bulgaria - Laughter Yoga International - A Life Changing Experience
Silvia Pencheva CLYT, Bulgaria: Two years ago in Bulgaria almost no one knew what Laughter Yoga was. But now, here we are, after my CLYL education in Bangalore, the laughter virus has spread in more than 10 cities in the country. We have done Laughter Yoga on festivals, on different organized events, and had sessions with nurses and doctors, companies and also cancer patients including a session during the national breast cancer campaign with top journalists and patients together. We also did Laughter Yoga with 200 people on TEDxYouth - one of the best known platforms for spreading brilliant ideas, and with the city transport system by giving tickets with a smile! With Laughter Yoga sessions fast catching on, the Bulgarian television has also helped to generate more awareness by featuring this unique concept a couple of times.
- Mon, 26 Dec 2011 05:53:35 +0000: Laughter Yoga Taught Me To Love & Accept Myself And Others - Laughter Yoga International - A Life Changing Experience
Mary Stallings: To me, life has been a series of events that I have labeled as either good or bad. I’ve carried these experiences around with me and have given them power to prevent me from doing certain things. I have been continuously worried about what others would think of me that I have not been able to enjoy life. I have felt as if I were walking on eggshells everyday to try and please everyone else when really I felt no pleasure within my own existence. My joy was conditional and based upon making others happy, which honestly did bring me temporary relief. However, what I have come to realize is that the best way to share joy is to experience it within yourself first. It is similar to the notion of loving oneself before loving others but I never truly grasped this yet either so I just sprung myself forward in a fit for survival and led my life trying to cheer everyone else up, even if it meant overlooking how miserable I felt inside. - Wed, 21 Dec 2011 10:32:26 +0000: Deaf And Mute Children Benefit From Laughter Yoga - Laughter Yoga International - A Life Changing Experience
Nasik, India: During the All Maharashtra Conference recently held in Nasik, India, I witnessed an amazing presentation by a teacher in a school for deaf and mute children. There was a group of 10 children who has been practicing Laughter Yoga 5 days in a week for about 20-30 minutes since the last two years. The school found that in comparison with other children who were not exposed to laughter sessions, this experimental group had remarkable improvement in their speech and communication skills.Laughter Yoga was introduced to these children by a medical doctor Dr. Sushma Duggad, chief coordinator of Laughter Clubs in Nasik. According to the teachers, regular laughter session has brought lot of joy and happiness into the lives of these disabled children and has helped them to overcome their depression.
